Dates The following are important financial aid dates for Fall 2008. July 9 2008: Registration begins for current and Readmitted Students July 16 2008: Registration begins for New Students August 7, 2008: Payment Due Date [After August 7, you should pay in full on the day that you register, unless your financial aid is finalized and completely covers your balance. Students will be dropped from unpaid classes on these Thursdays: August 7, 14, and 21. Students will be dropped from unpaid classes every night after August 21. Students dropped for non-payment will also be dropped from their wait-listed classes.] July 24, 2008 to September 5, 2008: Financial Aid Funds Available in the MBS Virtual Bookstore August 23, 2008: Financial Aid Pays on Student's Accounts [Financial Aid is paid to student's accounts after all required documents are submitted and processed. August 23, 2008 to September 8, 2008: Financial Aid Funds Available in the Campus Bookstore September 2, 2008: Fall Semester Starts September 15, 2008: First Distribution of Financial Aid Refunds (Direct Deposited or Mailed) [Student balances must be paid prior to releasing any checks, whether the balance is to be paid by the student or a third-party sponsor. Student accounts will be refunded the 14th calendar day of the semester. After that, accounts will be refunded on a weekly basis.] December 19, 2008: Semester Ends Payment of Financial Aid With the exception of Federal Work Study, financial aid funds will automatically be disbursed to your student account, provided your application is complete and you have met the requirements for each aid type. The Cashier's Office automatically will deduct costs (tuition, fees, contact hour fees, and other authorized charges, such as books and supplies) out of the financial aid that is credited to your account. Any remaining financial aid is refunded to you according to the dates set by the Cashier's Office. Refunds will be issued either by electronic fund transfer to your bank account (direct deposit) or a paper check mailed to your home. Private scholarship checks received by the college will be directly applied to your student account unless otherwise specified by the scholarship donor. When the Financial Aid Office is notified, it will be listed as part of your aid package as an "external scholarship." **Please note: Federal Regulations require the first disbursement of a Stafford Loan to be delayed 30 days after the start of classes for first time college students.
