The purpose of this page is to provide an overview of various sources
of job information. There are thousands of web sites on the Internet that can
connect you to employers and job openings. The lists below represent a sample of
local employers and local/national job postings and informational web sites.
Many of these employers periodically post open positions on College Central Network
and/or participate in the Annual WCC/Employment Services Job Fair.

Labor
Market Information State by State
Labor market information includes statistics on employment, wages,
industries, and
other factors affecting the world of work. The links from The Riley
Guide take users to
labor market information for the individual states so that data
can be compared across
states.
State
Occupational Projections
This site contains projections of occupational employment growth
developed for all
states and the nation as a whole. One of the most important uses
of these is to help
individuals make informed career decisions. Users can review information
on projected
employment growth for an occupation in several states or select
several occupations
and compare their growth projection in one state only. The projections
found here are
usually updated on a two-year cycle.
Job Search Resource Sites
Michigan Career Portal - This is the State of Michigan's online career resource Web site. You can post your resume or search job openings on the Michigan Talent Bank, with no fees required. There is also information on job fairs, wages and employment trends, licensed occupations, and job search assistance for people with disabilities, as well as how to write resumes and cover letters, interview for a job, and negotiate a salary.

- This site lists over 2,000 State Employment Service
offices.
CareerBuilder
CareerBuilder is a free career search site that features a large
number of open positions for job seekers. The companies featured
on CareerBuilder lists all of their open jobs and provide a wealth
of information about their benefits products and opportunities.
JobWeb
Database of job postings and employers. Career planning and employment
for the college-educated work force, with quarterly surveys of starting
salary offers to new college graduates, a quarterly journal, and
a biweekly newsletter.
