For Faculty & Staff
The Bailey Library provides many services to faculty and staff of WCC. See below for
more information about these services.
Research Instruction Program
WCC Librarians work to promote information literacy by providing research instruction in
conjunction with specific coursework for any class offered by the college. Preferably, instruction
takes place in the library, but under certain circumstances will be offered at the class site.
Librarians provide instruction in English, reading, communications, nursing, health sciences,
biology, psychology, economics, political science, career planning, graphic design, and art.
All other disciplines are welcome to use this service.
During each session, the Librarians teach research strategies for our collections along with explanations of the online library catalog,
research databases for articles in journals and newspapers, web evaluation, and other location tools in the Library as they apply to the library/research assignment given.
- STUDENTS
You may be enrolled in one or more classes that come to the Library for research instruction.
The content of each of these classes will vary according to the subject being studied.
If none of your classes are scheduled to come to the library for research instruction, ask a
Librarian at the Reference Desk if you can sit in on an instruction session scheduled for another teacher's class.
