Science Olympiad

Region 9 Science Olympiad is a team competition open to teams from middle and high schools from Jackson, Lenasee, Monroe, and Washtenaw counties. The Olympiad is co-sponsored by Eastern Michigan University and Washtenaw Community College. The 2008 competition will be Saturday March 15, 2008 on WCC's campus.

Events involve the various science disciplines of biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, and computers and technology. Events offer a balance of skills requiring knowledge of science facts, concepts, processes, skills, and science applications.

Winners of the Regional Science Olympiad advance to the Michigan State competition and winners from there go on to the International Olympiad.
