Welcome To Media Services
"We do it right ... and we do it right now." Faculty/Staff: Request Multimedia Equipment via the Intranet. (Login required: use your WCC E-Mail username and password.) Media Services is a department within the division of Learning Resources. The department provides faculty instructional support for classrooms, media production and events services. Classroom services supports classroom teaching by providing an array of instructional audio-visual technologies. Media Production creates a variety of instructional support material types including: 2 x 2 35mm slides, graphic displays, digital images, audio and video taping, and support for PowerPoint presentations. Events Services provides technical lighting, audio and video recording support for conferences and special events. Media Services also coordinates the downloading of televised programming for use in classroom instruction via satellite. Requests for off-air taping, and the licensing fee, must be processed well ahead of time. The department also maintains and supports the College's bulletin board/messaging system. The television system is controlled at the "Head End" using a 16-channel rf distribution system. The department also organizes vendor-supported presentations of emerging technology for the campus community. In addition, collaboration with Information Systems, Distance Learning, Web Services, Promotional Services and Facilities is critical regarding classroom design standards, renovation projects and new construction.
